After studying physics at university Tom trained and worked at Herbert Smith before joining Stevens & Bolton LLP in 2007. He became a partner in 2011.
Tom advises on all aspects of intellectual property and technology law. He has extensive litigation experience having represented clients in proceedings before all levels of the UK courts; and regularly advises businesses and individuals in a range of sectors on the protection, exploitation and management of intellectual property and technology. He also advises clients, particularly those in the media sector, on defamation and reputation management.
Tom is listed as a leading IP partner in the Chambers UK legal directory, which describes him as having "a formidable reputation for contentious IP matters”. It has also noted that his ability to “explain complex IP issues in layman's terms sets him apart”.
Tom has written articles for numerous leading legal publications, including PLC, Legal Week and Pharmaceutical law Insight, as well as being quoted several times in the national press and by the BBC. He is a qualified Solicitor-Advocate; an Associate Member of CIPA; and a member of TIPLO, AIPPI and iTechlaw.
