Scottish Referendum: Better together?

As the people of Scotland gear up to decide between separation and staying together, a vote in favour of divorcing this long standing union would be a "step into the dark" for both parties. Neither side can agree nor really claim to know how the practical and financial ramifications of this proposed separation may pan out.
