Stevens & Bolton LLP environmental expert awarded honorary membership of the RICS

One of Stevens & Bolton LLP environmental law experts, Valerie Fogleman, has accepted an invitation by the Governing Council of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to become an Honorary Member of the RICS.

RICS provides the world's leading professional qualification in land, property, construction and the associated environmental issues; acting in the public interest by setting and regulating the highest standards of competence and integrity among members; and providing impartial, authoritative advice on key issues for business, society and governments worldwide.

Described by the recently published 2011 edition of Chambers UK as "a well established name in the sector, winning praise for her environmental liability and insurance expertise", and by the 2010 edition of Legal 500 as "outstanding", Valerie has worked with the RICS for many years. Recent contributions to publications include the third edition of the RICS guidance note on 'Contamination, the Environment and Sustainability', led by Philip Wilbourn of Wilbourn Associates, and the RICS position paper on the 'Environmental Damage Regulations', led by Tim Elliott of Elliott Environmental Surveyors.

Valerie also recently participated with Philip Wilbourn in an interview on professional indemnity insurance, entitled 'Surveyors - Contribution, the Environment and Sustainability', for the Surveyors' Channel. In addition, she writes and updates the Insurance section of the RICS on-line publication 'isurv Environment'.
