GDPR Seminar

GDPR Seminar

Where are we now?

Data protection laws are about to undergo a radical change, which will affect all businesses, whatever their size, in all sectors. Organisations have less than 6 months to prepare for, and ensure compliance with, the new laws, which will apply from May 2018.

Following on from our seminar last year we will look at some of the challenges faced by businesses arising from The General Data Protection Regulation.

This event is by invitation only. It will be of interest to any business that holds or uses personal data and any person responsible within the organisation for that data, including marketing professionals, HR professionals, Heads of IT, business owners, in-house lawyers, contract managers, privacy officers and other compliance professionals.  We will be looking at some specific areas  of The GDPR and the event assumes attendees will have some knowledge of data protection already.

We will be joined by a representative from the German law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek who will give some European insight into how The GDPR may affect us in practice, based on their experience.

In addition to an overview of where we now are on GDPR, the event will cover such topics as

  • Mandatory documentation
  • Buzzwords such as “right to be forgotten”, “privacy by design” and “accountability”
  • Lawful grounds for processing personal data
  • Insights from the European perspective

You will also be able to join roundtable discussions on particular topics.
