Downton Abbey - rich legal pickings

With Sunday nights being back to where they should be, ITV’s Downton Abbey continues to enthral its viewers with the perhaps unlikely plot lines for a ratings winner, of testamentary intention, death duties, forum shopping and even wrongful dismissal.

Caroline Gordon-Smith, partner and head of family, has reviewed the latest episode of this popular serial drama, as featured in this week’s The Lawyer.

There are clearly rich legal pickings to be had from the current series. Lady Violet’s disdain “lawyers are always confident before the verdict; it’s only afterwards they share their doubts” will no doubt continue to be an undisputed highlight of the series.
