ECJ declares US Safe Harbour invalid

The Court of Justice of the European Union (“CJEU”) in its ruling in the case Maximillian Schrems v Data Protection Commissioner (Case C-362/14) has found the US Safe Harbour framework itself is invalid due to the far-reaching access of US intelligence agencies to the personal data transferred.
