European Medicines Agency relocation: interactive progress tracker

European Medicines Agency relocation: interactive progress tracker

Measures to prevent falsified APIs

A new interactive tracking tool showing the main milestones and deliverables for the EMA’s move to Amsterdam has been published by the EMA.  It is designed to allow full visibility of the progress of the relocation.

Following the EU27 decision, the EMA is due to move from London to Amsterdam before 29 March 2019 (when the UK withdraws from the EU).  As the buildings in Amsterdam will not be ready then, initially the EMA will be located in premises in the Sloterdijk area before moving to permanent premises in the Zuidas business district, said to be available from 15 November 2019.

The EMA have said that the tracker will be updated monthly as the project progresses and it will follow the progress of the permanent and temporary buildings together with the staff, financial, governance and legal aspects of the relocation.
