Issues for investors: trouble lurking at the end of the runway?

There are few markets where the importance of learning lessons from the past is so acute as it is in aviation. Each time a crash occurs, a meticulous investigation follows with real intent to make sure that the cause is eliminated for all future flights. Sadly, that rigour does not seem to be adopted more broadly, and, with the recession still relatively fresh in the memory, there are some serious signs of over-heating in the mature aircraft and engine finance market.
