Gabrielle advises employers, trustees and related stakeholders of occupational pension schemes (both defined benefit schemes and defined contribution schemes) on a broad range of pensions matters. She is also actively involved in M&A advising on pensions issues arising in corporate transactions.
Gabrielle trained and worked in top tier pensions practices in the City for 10 years before joining Stevens & Bolton in 2013. She became a partner in 2016.
Gabrielle advises a range of clients, with varying needs, but each time the issues will touch on an occupational pension scheme. Gabrielle’s expertise also covers automatic enrolment and life assurance provision.
Recent highlights include:
- Advising trustees on the buy-out of pension benefits within their scheme
- Advising an employer participating in a vast multi-employer defined benefit pension scheme on issues relating to potential insolvency and taking on all pension liabilities within the group scheme
- Assisting employers considering reducing pension costs in the Covid-19 landscape
No two days are the same! Gabrielle particularly enjoys simplifying and demystifying challenging and complex pensions questions.
Gabrielle is often quoted in national and trade press discussing topical pensions issues. She is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers. Gabrielle is also the firm’s training partner – she oversees graduate recruitment and is responsible for the two-year training period during which our trainees hone their skills to become accomplished lawyers. Gabrielle really enjoys nurturing new talent and seeing how our trainees progress, often from vacation scheme students all the way to qualified lawyers.
