About

A commercially astute lawyer with over 25 years’ experience, she joined from a city law firm with international experience. She has worked in-house with household names in the food, technology, renewables and life sciences sectors. Beverley has experience as a Data Protection Officer.

Beverley has significant expertise working collaboratively with clients on structuring and coordinating projects, negotiating contracts and related procurement, and technology e-commerce matters. These range from manufacturing, software, Saas, services, standard terms, NDAs, tenders, commercial agency, distribution, facilities management and business process outsourcing.

On data protection and cyber security, she is a Data Protection Officer and also engages in the understanding of complex issues such as data audits, data breaches, AI, Adtech, cookies, international transfers, data protection policies, subject access requests and related digital legislation.

Beverley is known for explaining the technical complexities of these areas to clients with clear and commercial pragmatic way.

Recent highlights include:

  • Leading on the IT aspects of SecurMed’s work, the UK authority responsible for implementing the requirements of the Falsified Medicines Directive, including liaising with the European Medicines Authority.
  • Acting as lead counsel to the UK executive team of Kia UK Limited on its commercial contract and procurement arrangements.
  • Advising Ylem Energy, smart energy generation and control and storage systems, on a range of contracts including energy service companies (ESCOs) contracts.
  • Advising a UK and US-based accountancy and payroll provider on the GDPR requirements on transfers of personal data between the US and the UK, including with regards to model clauses.
  • Advising a well-known media company on its obligations and data incident responses in response to a data breach and cyber attack.
  • Advising numerous clients on the legislative developments in the digital and data cyber space including DORA , EU AI Act, and related cyber resilience legislation.

Beverley is recognised in Chambers UK for both information technology and data protection and information law. She is also recommended in The Legal 500 for IT and telecoms. The team is ranked in Legal 500 and Beverley ranked in Chambers for commercial contracts.

Beverley is an expert on the panel of New Law Journal and on the commercial and data protection editorial board of LexisNexis. She speaks internationally at the IAPP and provides in-house legal training.
