About

Deliya is a thorough, thoughtful and pragmatic solicitor. She has over 10 years’ post-qualification experience, during which has run a varied caseload including very large international litigation and arbitration.

Deliya joined Stevens & Bolton in early 2024, having worked at a litigation boutique, the London office of a US firm and a large international firm where she trained. Deliya is bilingual in English and Russian and has a reading knowledge of French and Italian. As a hobby she tutors adults in Latin and Ancient Greek.

Her background is primarily in high-value commercial disputes with an element of fraud, including:

  • breakdowns of joint ventures
  • director misfeasance
  • misrepresentations in share/asset purchases
  • breach of confidence
  • transactions defrauding creditors
  • Advising on a breach of confidence claim in connection with the sale of a UK PLC, now successfully resolved by settlement
  • Advising on a variety of contractual disputes involving negligence by contractors, breach of IP rights and unlawful termination
  • Advising on franchising-related contractual disputes, guiding clients to a stronger position in negotiations
  • Running a large CIS-related joint venture dispute, requiring valuation and forensic accountancy experts, extensive witness statements, and involving parallel criminal proceedings abroad. The client recently secured a convincing victory following a 12-day trial in mid-2024
  • Acting on a claim for enforcement of an executive compensation scheme in LCIA proceedings
  • Advising a software distributor on breach of contract claims involving sanctions-related force majeure circumstances
Stevens & Bolton regularly achieve excellent outcomes for clients. The team has very strong negotiating skills alongside technical excellence, and we always try to put ourselves in the client’s shoes.
