Sophie is a disputes lawyer with a proven track record in resolving complex, high-stakestechnology and IT disputes, often involving cross-border elements.

Her practice spans sectors including technology, data centres, entertainment, outsourcing, and financial institutions. Sophie is also a trusted advisor on shareholder disputes, such as unfair prejudice claims, as well as a wide range of commercial matters, including breach of warranty, breaches of directors’ duties, shareholder agreement and restrictive covenant disputes.

Sophie joined Stevens & Bolton in 2025 from an international firm, where she was based in London. Clients appreciate her incisive approach to legal issues and her focus on achieving a commercially pragmatic outcome. Sophie consistently delivers exceptional outcomes for her clients, ensuring their interests are protected and advanced at every stage.

  • Acting for an international food producer in securing a freezing order against defendants pending the determination of the client’s £4m claim for fraud and unlawful means conspiracy.
  • Acting for the defendant in a £9m unfair prejudice claim with related derivative action brought on behalf of the company.
  • Advising a private equity client on its £3m warranty claim against the Sellers under a Share Purchase Agreement.
  • Acting for a public sector client in a £3.5m IT dispute involving deficient service provision, over-charging and delay.
  • Advising a lottery operator in relation to a £1m claim brought by a customer, succeeding both at first instance and in the Court of Appeal.
  • Representing a global client in the entertainment sector in a £2.5m claim relating to the early termination of a football sponsorship agreement, successfully settling at mediation.

Sophie is a member of the IBA, iTechLaw, and the Society for Computers and Law. She holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Oxford.
