After studying physics at university Tom trained and worked at a leading City IP practice before joining Stevens & Bolton LLP in 2007. He became a partner in 2011.
Tom advises on all aspects of intellectual property and technology law. He has extensive litigation experience having represented clients in proceedings before all levels of the UK courts; and regularly advises established businesses, start-ups and individuals in a range of sectors on the protection, exploitation and management of intellectual property and technology. He also advises clients, particularly those in the media sector, on defamation and reputation management.
Tom is listed as a leading IP partner in the Chambers UK legal directory, in which he is described by clients as an “IP mastermind”. He is recognised as a leading practitioner by World Trade Mark Review, the Legal 500 and Media Law International; as well as a UK patent and trade mark “Star” in Managing Intellectual Property IP Stars directory.
Tom has writes articles for numerous legal and industry publications, including PLC, Legal Week, Techradar and Music Week, as well as being quoted several times in the national press and by the BBC. He also recently appeared on Channel 4. He is a qualified Solicitor-Advocate; an Associate Member of CIPA; and a member of TIPLO, AIPPI and iTechLaw.
