About

Tom joined Stevens & Bolton in 2025, having trained in the City before spending 6 years in the commercial litigation team of a large regional law firm.

Tom has worked with private and listed companies across a range of sectors, as well as high net worth individuals, advising on matters including commercial contract disputes, shareholder disputes, and professional negligence disputes. Tom also has experience advising individuals and FCA regulated organisations navigating issues such as advisor exits, and complaints made via the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Capable and responsive, Tom is skilled at formulating strategies to enable parties to resolve their disputes at the earliest possible stage, anticipating factors such as litigation risk, cost-benefit, and clients’ commercial objectives.

  • Advised a major legal expenses insurer in High Court proceedings relating to a coverage dispute worth c.£2m;
  • Secured a pre-action resolution for an investment management firm party to a professional negligence claim for c.£1m;
  • Acted for the petitioner in unfair prejudice proceedings brought under s.994 of the Companies Act in relation to the shareholding in a company running a public attraction.
Our approach is to try and cut through the noise of a dispute, to enable clients to make clear decisions with their commercial goals firmly in mind.
