About

Tim is Head of Finance, Restructuring and Insolvency. He has an impressive and extensive background in restructuring and insolvency.

His expertise spans a wide number of sectors and across both contentious and transactional assignments, ranging from corporate simplification projects to distressed business deals and insolvency/fraud litigation.

Tim’s pragmatic, decisive and clear advice is lauded by his clients which include insolvency practitioners, corporates, stakeholders and other investors, directors and individuals.

Having joined Stevens & Bolton in 1995 as a trainee, Tim’s commitment to the firm and his clients has been unwavering and more recently with a focus on the international stage in building successful relationships through the International Bar Association (IBA) and INSOL.

    • Acting both officeholder and buyer side on various pre-pack/administration business and asset deals in the food, printing, automotive and leisure sectors.
    • Pursuing (for the officeholder) and defending (acting for director) claims for breach of duty, unlawful dividend and transactions at an undervalue/preference.
    • Restructuring advice to a regulated investment company and liaising with the FCA and HMRC concerning proposed settlement of share divesture and tax liabilities.
    • Advising on the simplification of a large corporate group via solvent liquidation and strike-off.
    • Acting for a cross-border private equity fund on enforcing its rights under a convertible loan.
    • On the personal insolvency side, acting for trustees in bankruptcy (including cross-border) on recovery action concerning void dispositions, transactions defrauding creditors and sham trusts.
