About

Hayley joined Stevens & Bolton in 2020 having trained at a local Guildford law firm where she qualified in 2019.

Hayley has experience advising on will validity challenges, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, disputes between executors and beneficiaries and breach of trust claims.

Hayley advises on claims involving estates and trusts, acting for executors, trustees and beneficiaries and also advising the firm’s trust corporation, Stevens & Bolton Trustees Limited, generally where the estate is the subject of contentious proceedings. Hayley also specialises in advising on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and has received praise from a Court of Appeal Judge for her conscientious approach in Re Hirachand.

  • Advising a litigation friend acting on behalf of one of his children in a successful claim to establish a constructive trust in the child’s favour;
  • Advising various eligible applicants on their claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Defendants) Act 1975;
  • Acting for the beneficiaries of a family trust in a successful claim to remove the incumbent trustees;
  • Acting for the executor of an estate in which the beneficiaries were in dispute about lifetime gifts, chattels and estate debts;
  • Acting for the disappointed beneficiary of his mother’s estate in bringing a Will validity and forgery dispute;
  • Advising SBTL on an estate administration involving multiple beneficiary claims and breach of director duties in circumstances where the trustee was under the Bartlett duties;
  • Advising the beneficiary of a discretionary trust on his claim in rectification and agreeing a variation to the terms of the trust with the residuary beneficiaries.
  • Hayley is ranked as an “Associate to watch” in Chambers HNW and recommended as a key lawyer in The Legal 500.
  • Hayley is a member of ConTrA and the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
