Jack is a pragmatic and approachable litigator, specialising in disputes involving trusts and estates domestically, internationally and offshore.

Jack works with his clients to understand their objectives and to help them navigate these often difficult disputes.

Jack advises on a wide variety of trust and estate disputes, including claims in breach of trust, for the removal of executors and trustees, probate claims such as challenges to the validity of a will and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.

Jack joined Stevens & Bolton in 2020 and became partner in 2024.

  • Acting for the litigation friend of a minor beneficiary in relation to a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 concerning an estate of approximately £17m.
  • Advising a beneficiary of a substantial Guernsey trust in a claim concerning the removal of the professional trustee by the protector.
  • Acting in a claim concerning the estate of a high-profile figure in relation to chattels valued in the region of £15m, including the defence of claims relating to proprietary estoppel, mutual wills, contractual arrangements and will validity. Successfully achieving settlement before trial.
  • Acting in the estate of a high-profile figure in connection with the sum of £35m held in Natwest Bank since the 1940s.
  • Advising the firm’s trust corporation on a number of complex independent appointments as trustee or executor, including advice in relation to Public Trustee v Cooper blessing applications and the defence of third party claims against estates.
  • Acting for clients in a claim for the recovery of a valuable property which was transferred to the defendant as a result of undue influence.
