Lorna is a confident and capable adviser who enjoys building collaborative relationships with clients to resolve disputes efficiently and commercially.

Since qualifying into the commercial litigation team in 2016, Lorna has worked with clients to resolve disputes arising from commercial contracts, corporate transactions, franchising arrangements, commercial agency agreements and allegations of professional negligence. Lorna helps clients to navigate disputes with a commercial approach and works with clients to understand and achieve their objectives.

Lorna has a particular interest in international arbitration and has developed significant expertisein this field,acting for clients in institutional and ad hoc arbitration across many sectors.

  • Commercial Litigation
  • Acting for a global aviation company in High Court proceedings against a UAE-registered jet owner in connection with the management, maintenance and operation of an aircraft;
  • Acting for an investment company in Commercial Court proceedings for sums due under a facility agreement, successfully obtaining summary judgment for approximately $21m;
  • Successfully defending a property management company in court proceedings against a claim brought by a former pensions adviser.
  • International Arbitration
  • Acting for a professional services firm in an LCIA arbitration, claiming significant damages arising from a contractual dispute with an international network;
  • Acting for the subsidiary of a USA-based software developer, defending a claim for damages arising from the performance of a software licence and services agreement, and pursuing a counterclaim for unpaid invoices;
  • Acting for the liquidators of a state-owned mining company in an LCIA arbitration seated in London, defending claims for damages arising out of the sale of mining interests in South Africa.

Lorna has Higher Rights of Audience and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
