Stevens & Bolton LLP's environmental liability expert, Valerie Fogleman, has once again been part of a team with BIO by Deloitte, who have undertaken a major study for the European Commission on civil liability for offshore accidents in the European Economic Area.
The study examined liability for claims for bodily injury, property damage and economic loss from pollution caused by an offshore oil and gas accident in the 18 Member States carrying out, or planning, such operations plus Norway and Iceland. The study also examined compensation regimes for such claims and financial security, including insurance, for them.
