James’s technical knowledge is excellent
James trained and worked at Speechly Bircham before joining Stevens & Bolton LLP in 2007, and became a senior associate in 2011. In 2017, James became managing associate and was made a partner on 1st May 2019.
James has substantial knowledge and experience in advising clients (both beneficiaries and trustees) with onshore and offshore trust structures; succession planning for both domiciled and non-UK domiciled individuals including drafting complex wills and lifetime trust structures; advising UK and non-UK domiciled clients on general UK tax planning (including entrepreneurial clients and owner managed business);cross border estates and employee benefit trusts.
James is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is described in Chambers UK 2019 (Associates to watch) as “bright and insightful” and “definitely one to watch”.
