Stevens & Bolton has advised Harry Ramsden’s Group Ltd, the world-famous fish and chips brand, on its strategic licensing partnership with Morrisons, enabling Harry Ramsden's branded products to be rolled out across Morrisons Cafés nationwide.
Our role involved successfully structuring and negotiating the "Proudly Serving" licensing model and establishing a bespoke commercial framework under which Morrisons Cafés can offer a range of Harry Ramsden's branded fish and chip products, while maintaining the quality, heritage and brand standards that the Harry Ramsden’s brand is known for.
The deal forms part of Harry Ramsden's broader strategy to leverage the strength of its brand through innovative licensing, retail and hospitality partnerships. It follows a period of significant brand expansion, as Harry Ramsden's continues to diversify its routes to market and unlock new growth opportunities beyond its traditional restaurant footprint.
Guy Cartwright, Managing Associate, and Laura Burge, Associate, at Stevens & Bolton commented: “It has been a pleasure to work alongside the Harry Ramsden's team on this exciting transaction, which showcases both the continued strength of the Harry Ramsden's brand and the growing importance of licensing as a strategic growth tool. We wish them every success and look forward to continuing to support the brand on its expansion.”
