We are delighted to announce that Catherine Penny, partner in Stevens & Bolton's dispute resolution team, has been elected President of the International Arbitration Commission of AIJA (the International Association of Young Lawyers).
Following two years serving as Vice President of the Commission, Catherine was appointed President at AIJA's recent Annual General Assembly Meeting. She will lead the Commission alongside co-Presidents Malviina Linninen of Finnish law firm Borenius and Nadia Ohlhoff-Smahi from Lenz Staehelin in Switzerland.
AIJA is a leading international association for lawyers and in-house counsel, bringing together legal professionals from jurisdictions around the world. Its International Arbitration Commission focuses on developments in international arbitration and provides a forum for lawyers to share knowledge, build connections and discuss issues affecting international trade and commerce.
Catherine has been an active member of AIJA for many years and has built a strong international network through the organisation. Her appointment reflects both her commitment to the international arbitration community and her extensive experience advising clients on complex commercial disputes, arbitration proceedings and cross-border matters.
