Deal news: Advising on the sale of In-Space Missions to BAE Systems

Stevens & Bolton has advised on the sale of In-Space Missions Ltd to BAE Systems.

In-Space Missions, a UK company that designs, builds and operates satellite systems, has joined forces with BAE Systems, an international defence, aerospace and security company.

The acquisition will combine BAE Systems’ experience in highly secure satellite communications with In-Space Missions’ full lifecycle satellite capability, to make a compelling sovereign UK space offer.

Doug Liddle, CEO of In-Space Missions, commented, “Stevens and Bolton demonstrated a responsive and sympathetic understanding of the key In-Space requirements for the deal.  Nick Atkins and his team’s flexibility and ability to rapidly reach good compromises with the BAE Systems team allowed us to hit a challenging timeline for concluding the deal and an excellent outcome for all sides.”.

Nick Atkins, corporate partner at Stevens & Bolton said: “It was a pleasure to support the team at In-Space Missions on this sale. We wish the team all the best. This is a company at the cutting edge of space technology so it was really exciting to be involved in a deal of this nature. In-Space Missions have some truly innovative projects in the pipeline, and we can’t wait to see what they create in the coming years.”

The Stevens & Bolton team was led by corporate partner and head of entrepreneurs, Nick Atkins, supported by Clare Newberry (corporate), Natasha Dean (corporate), Sam Burnage (corporate), Melanie Shone (corporate tax), Emily Hocken (employment) and Jonathan Cope (real estate).
