Deal news: Advising Zenitech on its investment from Sovereign Capital Partners

Stevens & Bolton has advised award-winning pub group Red Mist Leisure on its equity investment backing by Red Lion Holdings LLP and its latest property acquisition in Surrey.

Red Lion Holdings, a specialist hospitality investment group, has acquired a majority stake in Red Mist Leisure. The investment will support its portfolio expansion across the South of England and its ambitious future growth plans.

Founded in 2004, Red Mist Leisure has a high-quality property portfolio of ten pubs and inns across Surrey and Hampshire, dedicated to delivering an authentic, family-friendly pub experience with locally sourced food and drink. It has recently added to its established portfolio by acquiring a new site, The Parrot Inn near Shalford, the first to be completed since the secured investment.

Mark Robson, Managing Director at Red Mist Leisure commented: “We are very pleased to have secured this equity investment in to our business, especially given the industry is under immense pressure and the back drop is very uncertain. The group is now in a great position to execute its business plan over the years ahead acquiring new pubs to expand our portfolio and investing in to the properties in our core estate that need it. We are grateful to Keith Syson and all of the team at Stevens and Bolton for their patience, advice and professionalism in making this deal happen and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”

Keith Syson, Corporate Partner at Stevens & Bolton said: “We are delighted to have worked with Mark and the Red Mist Leisure team in securing this investment and subsequent acquisition in what are challenging times in the sector. We look forward to supporting the management team with its planned acquisitions during the next step in its journey.”

The Stevens & Bolton team was led by Keith Syson, supported by Krishna Patel (corporate), Matthew Padian (finance), Andrew Steele, Richard Wilkin and Jonny Cope (real estate) and Boma Adoki (employment).
