STEVENS & BOLTON ADVISES INPUT MEDIA ON ACQUISITION BY GRAVITY MEDIA GROUP

Stevens & Bolton LLP has advised the management team of sports production company Input Video Limited, trading as Input Media, on its acquisition by Gravity Media Group (GMG), the owner of worldwide broadcast services specialists Gearhouse Broadcast and Hyperactive Broadcast.

Established for more than 25 years, Input Media is one of Europe’s leading sports TV production companies, producing over 2,000 hours of top-quality programming every year. Clients include UEFA, The FA, BBC and ITV Sport and a number of Premier League football clubs. It will retain its branding, current leadership team and staff.

The transaction is the first major acquisition that GMG has made since securing substantial investment from investment management firm TowerBrook Capital Partners in September 2016 to fund future growth.

Input Media Chairman David Wood commented: “I am delighted that in GMG we have found a great partner to help us to grow our business both in the UK and internationally. Stevens & Bolton played a central role in preparing the business for sale and providing committed and commercially-aware support to me and my fellow shareholders throughout the sale process.”

The Stevens & Bolton team was led by corporate partner Richard Baxter, supported by Thomas West and James Stenning (corporate), Jamie Crawford and Sarah Balchin (corporate tax), Shaun Hogan (employment), Rosy Kidd and Jonathan Cope (property).

Richard Baxter added: “Having thoroughly enjoyed working alongside David Wood and his team for many years, we were delighted to help them through this transaction towards the next phase of their growth plans. We wish them and GMG every success in developing the business together in the coming years.”
