Joanna assists clients in contentious and non-contentious matters concerning the full range of intellectual property rights.
Joanna has been a member of the IP team at Stevens & Bolton since 2013 and qualified as a solicitor in July 2017.
She regularly advises on the drafting and negotiation of complex global patent licence agreements and has a particularly active life sciences practice.
Joanna’s brand protection work includes managing online brand enforcement programmes for a number of key clients, and handling trade mark, copyright and design right infringement disputes before the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC) and the High Court.
Recent highlights include:
- Providing IP licensing support to major pharmaceutical companies, including a global biotechnology company, with the drafting and negotiation of complex cross-border patent and know-how licence agreements
- Advising a Premier League football club on brand enforcement matters including an ongoing online monitoring and takedown programme
- Lead associate in advising an Italian luxury chocolate manufacturer in relation to trade mark infringement and successfully obtaining a Europe-wide injunction
- Assisting a well-known coffee shop chain on a number of domain name complaints
Joanna has written articles for a number of legal and industry publications including TMT News and IQ Magazine. She is also a member of The Intellectual Property Lawyers' Organisation (TIPLO).
