Stevens & Bolton has been named Contentious Wills & Probate Team of the Year (Boutique) at the British Wills & Probate Awards 2026.
The award recognises the work of the firm’s Private Wealth Disputes team, which supports clients with complex inheritance, trust and estate disputes in the UK and internationally.
The recognition follows a year of continued growth and involvement in significant cases. The team welcomed partner Alexa Payet, a specialist in the financial consequences of assisted dying and forfeiture cases, whose experience also strengthens its contentious Court of Protection practice. Senior associate Christopher Hatton also joined, bringing the team to 10.
Combining technical expertise with practical advice, the team helps individuals, families, trustees and professional advisers resolve sensitive and challenging disputes. Its approach focuses on understanding each client’s priorities, providing clear guidance on costs and risks, and identifying the most effective route to resolution.
James Lister, Partner and Head of Private Wealth Disputes, said:
"This award is a fantastic recognition of what we already know – that our team’s expertise, commitment and collaborative approach is highly regarded in our market. We are proud of what we have achieved together over the past year and grateful to our clients and professional contacts for their continued trust and support as the team continues to go from strength to strength."
The British Wills & Probate Awards celebrate excellence across the private client profession, recognising firms, practitioners and teams for their client service, expertise and innovation.
