The UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) has announced that official fees for trade marks and designs will increase, on average, by 25% from 1 April 2026.
What does this mean?
UK marks can be renewed up to six months in advance, so where any UK trade marks or designs are due for renewal before 30 September 2026, a significant amount could be saved by renewing before 1 April 2026.
Similarly, we recommend filing marks or registering designs in the UK before 1 April 2026, as this will be cheaper.
